Overview of Urban Gondolas: Implications and Opportunities for Implementation in Chinese Cities
Many Chinese cities are undergoing rapid urbanization and experiencing incredible growth. While the country is investing heavily in all forms of transportation infrastructure -- from high-speed rail to bus rapid transit -- the implementation of Cable Propelled Transit (CPT) has yet to materialize despite the rising number of urban CPT systems around the world. This paper seeks to increase the understanding of CPT technology and its potential in fulfilling some of the burgeoning transport needs in China's growing cities.
